Origin: Africa, Sub-sahara

Materials: Eight iron or bamboo (leave sticks) tongues mounted on a wooden board, attached by an iron chain to a hemispherical gourd resonator.

Use: The tones can be tuned by sliding the slats back and forth. In principle, tuning to any tonal system is possible.
