Origin: Finland, Sudan, Java

Materials: Neck and echo carved from the same untreated wood. The neck is end to the tail. There are three openings in the bottom. There are no tongues in the player.

Use: The Kacapi indung leads the accompaniment by providing intros, bridges, and interludes, as well as determining the tempo. For this purpose, a large kacapi with 18 or 20 strings is used.
